Svetlana has been born and raised in Russia where she graduated as a teacher of Russian and Russian literature. She always had a great passion for dancing and visual arts such theater and ballet and as a child tried out gymnastics and figure skating but never had a chance to fully commit to anything since her family had been moving all over the country. In 2008 she moved to Miami where in 2012 she decided to try pole fitness in order to stay fit and it was a love from the first class. Pole completely changed her perspective of fitness which doesn’t have to be boring and exhausting, Svetlana thinks that the pole dancing is a great, powerful, body transforming form of art which has no regulations or limitations, it is a perfect combination of strength and sensuality. Svetlana has been training in pole for almost a year improving her flexibility level and progressing with her tricks. She is a very dedicated dancer who never stood and always brings every single move to perfection. In June 2013 Svetlana competed in Southern Pole Championship where she took the first place in the level 2 category in the same Championship. In the following year she won the second place and the most artistic in the amateur division. She is also a certified pole dance and fitness instructor.
Because of this pole, I got my happiness back! I’ve been a dancer (ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical) for 20 years. After college, I lost all opportunities to continue with dance and just went through life without doing anything that made me TRULY happy. My husband and I like to go to clubs and after watching these girls dance I thought “I want to learn this form of dance but I don’t want to be a stripper.” (not that there is anything wrong with being a stripper, I just don’t have the mentality for it:) ) I did A LOT of research and found this pole. My husband bought it for me and installed it with a friend. It is AMAZING and my stress reliever. It works on carpet and it is really sturdy. I had a male friend test it multiple times and I can climb to the top and do tricks without it being wobbly. I am always working to be a better dancer and it has brought back my happiness! Thank you Danna, for your fabulous videos and for being a great teacher! It is a great exercise for my body and mind, plus my husband doesn’t mind watching me learn new tricks 😉
Iyana has had a deep rooted passion for Dance. At age 5, she took her first ballet class which would only confirm that being “An Entertainer”, is the path with which her destiny lies. At age 12 she auditioned and was accepted into Dillard Center for the Performing Arts and has pursued a career in dance ever since. Her areas of study span modern, ballet, jazz, lyrical, belly dancing, cabaret/burlesque, musical theater, hip hop, ballroom, contortion and of course her new love, pole dancing. Since graduation she has graced the stages of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Bank Atlantic Center, James L. Knight Center, Miami Beach Convention Center, Dolphin Stadium, Guzman Theater and a vast array of renowned hotels and nightclubs. Her sensual dance style and intricate pole combinations has landed her numerous teaching roles in both pole and dance alike and as a teacher she takes great pride in sharing her passion with others.
If you buy the wrong type of pole for your situation, then it can be dangerous. On the flip side, if you understand the different types of pole dancing poles available and buy the best one that fits the way you plan to use it at home, then you will find that learning to pole dance at home one of the most rewarding things you could do for your emotions and your fitness goals.
